It is beginning to feel a lot like Fall!

I love these days when the air is crisp and you have to wear a sweater when you go outside. It is finally Fall! Yippee!! We bundled Taylor up this morning and headed out to the playground and the Zoo. Who knew that tonight is Boo In the Zoo and the decorations were going to be up already? It was great to see all the decorations, but not have to fight a crazy crowd! Taylor loved the monkeys (of course) and the elephant. He actually cried when we had to leave her. His tears didn't last long though because we headed straight to the playground. He loved it. He loved the other kids, the slides, the bridges, the swings, etc. What a fun morning! After a long long nap (might I mention that I took an hour nap too), we headed over to TCBY to get a sweet treat. Taylor would have none of it though. He just kept saying, "no, no" when we tried to give him a bite. He had no idea what he was missing. He didn't say no, of course, to the kid picnic table with toys that they had there. He entertained himself while Dave and I indulged. What fun!

Fall for Greenville 2008

This afternoon we went with our friends, Kevin, Sarah, and Emily to Fall for Greenville. It was fun to eat from the wide assortment of vendors and to catch up with the Purcers. It was also fun to run into our friends, Rich, Joy, Brooklynn and Blake. We hadn't seen them in such a long time. It is amazing how much kids grow when you haven't seen them for a few months! I think the highlight of the afternoon was the great food for the adults and the ride on dad's shoulders for the kiddos.

Taylor's first "little boy" haircut

We took Taylor to get his second haircut this morning (or his first "little boy" haircut). I have been nervous for so long about cutting off all his baby hair and his curls. Well, today was the day. It was entirely too long and was starting to look shabby. Taylor was such a good boy the entire time she cut his hair. He never cried or even looked distressed. He played with a toy and sat very patiently. I am really pleased with the outcome!

To the pumpkin patch!

On Sunday, we decided that we needed some quality family time together. We loaded Taylor in the car and headed off to the nearest patch of pumpkins that we could find- St. Matthew's United Methodist Church! Taylor was a little apprehensive about exploring hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins at first. However, curiosity eventually got the best of him and he just had to touch and crawl over a few of them. Once we found our "prize" pumpkin (check out the neat curved stem- that's what sold me), we headed off to grab some healthy, low in fat Mexican food - ha ha! Taylor ADORES guacamole, mexican rice, and chicken soft tacos. He is really into dipping his chips into his guacamole. He is such a big boy!

Sick days

Taylor was sent home from school on Friday due to getting sick twice. Poor little guy! Therefore, we enjoyed just taking it easy this weekend, playing in our pajamas, and eating lots of carbs (the BRAT diet- bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast). Taylor also discovered how much he loves Pedialite. I actually think that he would prefer it over his watered down juice. So far nothing has come back up. Hopefully he is over the worst part of it.
