Spring is here!

I am loving these 70 and 80 degree days!  The sky is crystal clear and the temperature is perfect.  This is ideal weather for spring break!!  Taylor and I headed over to the zoo and met up with Sarah, Emily, and Laney on Tuesday.  I think that we were there for over three hours.  We both packed picnic items and let the kids play on the zoo playground after we looked at the animals while we relaxed in our favorite spot- the rocking chairs that overlook the playground.

Amazing Friends!

I have been suffering from a horrible cold for about the past week and a half.  Of course, there is no time to slow down, take time off of work, or stop projects that need to be done around the house.  Things must go on even when mom is sick- that even includes ordering and spreading a huge truck load of mulch in the front yard!   I remember thinking that I must have bitten off more than I could chew on Friday afternoon when I saw the amount of mulch that needed spreading.  Needless to say, I was not looking forward to Saturday morning.  However, my whole outlook on the day changed when our amazing friends, the Purcers, surprised us with a dozen donuts, coffee, extra tools, gloves, and the willingness to take part in a "mulch party" in our front yard.  Amazing friends!!!!  They spread mulch (even Sarah with baby Laney) with us for about three and a half hours.  That was absolute record time for us.  We would truly still be spreading mulch today if they had not graciously come to our rescue.  We had a great time with them.  Taylor and Emily had a blast digging for worms, playing on the mulch "volcano," and digging with shovels all over the yard.  We were completely finished by lunch time.  We grabbed a few sandwiches and stayed outside for a relaxing picnic.  Needless to say, we all took great naps that afternoon!  So....Purcers, what are you doing this time next year???

Which sweet little munchkin has been secretly nibbling at the donuts?

Long time, no see!

Wow!  It has been almost a month since I posted last.  That is waaaayyyyy too long!  Sorry for the lack of posts.  The snow, cold weather, tons of school work, and just plain life has gotten me behind in my blogging.  I haven't even read other blogs that I normally visit.  Plain and simple- I have a lot of catching up to do!

Christie came for a visit this weekend, and we went to the zoo with all of the kids.  I think that the rest of the city had the same idea.  The parking lot was packed, the playground was packed, and the zoo was at maximum capacity.  However, we had a blast!  I miss seeing Christie and her kids already.  36-48 hours simply isn't long enough, but I will take what I can get!

While playing at the playground at the zoo, I ran into my wonderful dear friend, Robin.  Robin and I played all the time as young kids.  We reunited on the day that I delivered Taylor.  Robin was right across the hall from me in the hospital.  She had just delivered her first son too, Gaines.  It was great to reconnect with her then, and it was great to reconnect with her three years later.  Taylor and Gaines hugged- like they were old friends too that were reuniting.  We have plans to get together in the coming weeks.  What a small world!
