To the slides- part two

We took Taylor to the park today to slide down his favorite slides. He has been in a weird mood lately where all he wants is to be held. We discovered today that his excessive drool and needy state is probably because of the back molar that is cutting through. You know that Taylor felt pretty rotten when he barely wanted to go down the slides. He went down them a few times because we kept pushing it, but after a while all he wanted was to be in someone's arms and to hold his sippy cup. I think that we will break out the Tylenol tomorrow!

Play Hut

Kelly called yesterday and asked if we wanted to borrow AnnaKate's play hut for a while. We set it up in Taylor's room today and he had a blast! The only problem is that it is HUGE!! I took a few pictures for you to see how massive it truly is. We had to take it down so that we could actually put Taylor to bed tonight, but left the tunnel out for him to play with tomorrow. Taylor and Baxter had a great time crawling through the tunnel and then back into the "hut" to try it all over again. Thanks Kelly!

A cute start to the day

The boppy is truly one of the greatest inventions of all time. Taylor is almost 17 months old and we are still finding uses for it. I think that it is truly one of the only things that we still use today that we also used when he was first born. Taylor discovered on his own that it is quite comfortable to sit in/on one while watching cartoons. Take notice of the huge curl that he woke up with on top of his head. I just had to capture it!

A glimpse of what we've been up to

It is hard to believe that June is almost over! Taylor and I have had so much fun together. He absolutely adores playing outside. In fact, Dave and I even have to spell the word "outside" so that Taylor won't cry to go back outside and play. I truly believe that if we let him he would play outside all day. If we are outside, you can bet that Taylor will either have a rock or a stick in his hands. It is so wonderful to watch this little guy discover the world!

Visiting Taylor's Great Grandmother

Today, we went with Mimi to visti Muh, Taylor's great grandmother. We are trying to have lunch with her every Friday during the summer. I really want Taylor to know her well! While in Spartanburg, we walked around her newly planted garden and surveyed the tomatoes, okra, peas, and more. They are really coming along. We also visted with Taylor's great uncle, David, as he worked on maintaining the garden. Taylor entertained himself well while we visited by playing with every bucket, broom, throw rug, and kitchen utensil in sight. It was a wonderful day!

We've been given the "all clear"

Taylor had his eye appointment with Dr. Johnson this morning to decide whether he would need surgery for his clogged tear duct. Dr. Johnson was pleased to announce that Taylor's eye is about 95% clear, and he feels that surgery on Friday will not be necessary. Yeah!!! The doctor said that today was a great day for him because he gets to tell on average one family a year that they need to cancel their tear duct surgery. What answered prayers this is! Check out these wonderfully clear eyes below.

Happy 2nd Father's Day, Dave!

We celebrated Father's Day all weekend long. On Friday, we had a special dinner at home. On Saturday evening, we went to Mimi and Papa's house for some fabulous ribs, and then today we went to a low country boil at the Hart's house. There was a lot of celebrating going on! Dave had a fabulous time this morning with Taylor outside. Taylor discovered golf clubs for the first time, and Dave couldn't have been more excited. Tonight at the Harts, Taylor went down the biggest slide yet. Again, he was fearless as he sailed down the slide completely on his own on his tummy.

A day at the Zoo with Mimi and Papa

Today, Taylor and I went with Mimi and Papa to the Mug and Muffin for breakfast and then to the Greenville Zoo. Dave was off at the driving range enjoying an early Father's Day gift. Taylor ate half of an enormous blueberry muffin while I was able to catch up with my parents. At ten o'clock, we headed off to the Zoo. We had a great time seeing all of the animals and hearing the great apes talk to each other. We will have to make this a regular outing!

Fearless

Our son is fearless when it comes to going down slides (face first that is). We went to Knox's 2nd birthday party last night at the park, and after Taylor got over being shy he found his way to the playground where all of the other kids were playing. He proceeded to crawl up the stairs by himself and then down the large slide face first. He squealed the entire way down and then proceeded to go right back to the stairs and do it all over again. We think that he went down the slide completely unassisted over 30 times. He finally stopped when he was thirsty and tired. He took a brief break and then headed right back to the slide for round 2. Here are some pictures that we captured.

Happy 4th Birthday, Addi!

Stephanie and Chad's little girl turned four last week, and they had a pool/water slide/slip-n-slide party for her at their house. The little girls had a blast!! Addi took a break from the water slide so that I could snap a quick picture of her. Her adorable little brother, Luke, was a complete angel sitting in the shade in his Exersaucer. Taylor did not care to get in the water at all, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself in the toy car and playing with a few toys.

Spiderman

This morning, we took Taylor down to our new cul-de-sac and let him ride around on his new Spiderman toy. He had the best time with all of the wide open space. He also loved putting rocks and leaves (his favorite all natural toys) underneath the seat in the compartment. We will upload a cute video later this afternoon.

We are going to have to get a wagon and slide!

Last weekend we had a neighborhood cul-de-sac party and we discovered that Taylor loves to be in a wagon. He and our neighbor, AnnaKate, sat in it for quite a while and played with her toys. Another thing that he absolutely ADORES is the slide. He is a fearless little boy , and he prefers to go down the slide face first with his arms stretched out in front of him. Therefore, we are currently in the process of seeking out a durable wagon and slide for this summer!

What a great day!

We had a fantastic start to our weekend! This morning we went to our first Gymboree class and had a blast! Taylor was almost overwhelmed with all of the options that he had to play with. He slid down the slide, crawled through tunnels, crawled up inclines, walked across bridges, and at the same time he learned a little about patience and sharing. He was a little hesitant to participate in the class singing and activities, but he warmed up to it a little over time. I think that the more we go, the more comfortable he will feel. He absolutely wore himself out, and he fell asleep on the car ride home.

Once Taylor woke up from his nap, we took him downtown for a stroll and some ice cream. He was not keen on the ice cream, but he LOVED walking everywhere and watching all of the people. We were also barely able to get out of O.P. Taylor's and The Mast General Store without buying anything. We took him behind The Mast General Store and let him run around on the grassy area. We snapped some great shots as he explored. The wind was unbelievable, and his little blonde curls were blowing all over the place.
