Our own little quarterback

On Saturday afternoon, we made a little trip over to the Purcer's for a baby shower for the Ford's. The guys did an amazing job of keeping the kids occupied while the ladies opened presents and ate wonderful homemade goodies that Sarah and Joy provided. It was a beautiful shower, girls! Here are a few pictures from the afternoon. We may be grooming our own little future quarterback. I can just see Dave's dad jumping for joy in Heaven because his grandson is tossing a football! He would be so proud!!

Valentine's Day

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! The weather was absolutely perfect. We spent a lot of time outside playing and clearing out the woods in our backyard. Taylor had a great time playing with his new guitar. I was able to capture a few seconds of his "jam session." I love how he stomps his right foot when he dances. It is just too cute!

I have also included a few pictures of the fun food that we ate over the weekend. It is amazing how something as simple as heart shaped pancakes can start your day off right. Also take a look at the little "heart monster" that Sarah and Emily brought to Taylor for his birthday. It was almost too cute to eat...almost.

A beautiful gift

This afternoon we received in the mail a beautiful gift from Dave's mom. She did a gorgeous pastel drawing of Taylor for us. We are so excited to have it and display it in our home. I thought that it would be fun to share.

The first 2009 trip to the zoo

Here are a few pictures from our trip to the zoo and Cleveland Park on Sunday. The weather just couldn't have been better.

Spring is near!

The weather yesterday was unbelievable! We spent as much time as we could outside. Of course, we made our weekly trip to the playground and sandbox. It was hard to tear all of us away when it was time for lunch and Taylor's nap. Later, we went back outside to help Dave finish installing our new storm door that leads out to the deck. The day was topped off by a visit from Mimi. She came around 5 to scoop Taylor up and take him to her house for the night. Taylor had absolutely no reservations what so ever about leaving us. He was so excited to see Papa and ride on his John Deere mower. It was so cute to watch him in my mom's car wave at us and blow us kisses- all while smiling from ear to ear. He just couldn't wait to get to their house! Dave and I were able to spend time together and celebrate Dave's birthday a little late. We had a nice dinner out at Mimi's Cafe and then did a little shopping afterward. It was a great day for everyone!

Really big shoes!

This weekend Taylor noticed some summer shoes that I have for him in the closet. He immediately just had to put them on. I thought nothing about it, and I slipped them over his socks with his pajamas on. As it turns out, he absolutely loves them and has no problem walking in them. You would think that he would trip constantly in them, but he doesn't. So...we are breaking them in a little early. In fact, he absolutely insisted on wearing them to school this morning. Dave tried to trick him and put on his normal shoes, but Taylor caught on and insisted on the sandals. Off to school they went with the summer sandals and socks. Quite stylish (haha).

It's Saturday!

We have had quite the eventful morning! Taylor spent the night with his Mimi and Papa last night so that we could have a night to ourselves. We met everyone on Saturday morning at Stax's for a celebration birthday breakfast for Dave and my dad. My dad's birthday is on the 25th of January and Dave's is on Feb. 3rd. So, naturally, we celebrate both in the middle. Thanks for having birthdays, Dad and Dave. The breakfast was great!! After breakfast, we ran an errand and then took Taylor to get his hair cut. I think that having his hair cut was the last thing on his mind. He cried (or screamed) the entire time. I even had to hold him on my lap so that she could attempt to cut his hair. The girl that cut Taylor's hair was amazing. I have no idea how we don't have bald spots all over his head. He was constantly twisting, turning, or trying to move her hand off of his head. Amazingly, his hair looks great. Now I know why the haircuts are so expensive!! Needless to say, after the haircut, we had to do the least traumatic thing possible- take a trip to the playground. Taylor wore himself (and us) out there. Overall, it was a great day!
