Visiting Taylor's Great Grandmother

Today, we went with Mimi to visti Muh, Taylor's great grandmother. We are trying to have lunch with her every Friday during the summer. I really want Taylor to know her well! While in Spartanburg, we walked around her newly planted garden and surveyed the tomatoes, okra, peas, and more. They are really coming along. We also visted with Taylor's great uncle, David, as he worked on maintaining the garden. Taylor entertained himself well while we visited by playing with every bucket, broom, throw rug, and kitchen utensil in sight. It was a wonderful day!

We've been given the "all clear"

Taylor had his eye appointment with Dr. Johnson this morning to decide whether he would need surgery for his clogged tear duct. Dr. Johnson was pleased to announce that Taylor's eye is about 95% clear, and he feels that surgery on Friday will not be necessary. Yeah!!! The doctor said that today was a great day for him because he gets to tell on average one family a year that they need to cancel their tear duct surgery. What answered prayers this is! Happy 2nd Father's Day, Dave!

We celebrated Father's Day all weekend long. On Friday, we had a special dinner at home. On Saturday evening, we went to Mimi and Papa's house for some fabulous ribs, and then today we went to a low country boil at the Hart's house. There was a lot of celebrating going on! Dave had a fabulous time this morning with Taylor outside. Taylor discovered golf clubs for the first time, and Dave couldn't have been more excited. Tonight at the Harts, Taylor went down the biggest slide yet. Again, he was fearless as he sailed down the slide completely on his own on his tummy.

A day at the Zoo with Mimi and Papa

Today, Taylor and I went with Mimi and Papa to the Mug and Muffin for breakfast and then to the Greenville Zoo. Dave was off at the driving range enjoying an early Father's Day gift. Taylor ate half of an enormous blueberry muffin while I was able to catch up with my parents. At ten o'clock, we headed off to the Zoo. We had a great time seeing all of the animals and hearing the great apes talk to each other. We will have to make this a regular outing!

Fearless

Our son is fearless when it comes to going down slides (face first that is). We went to Knox's 2nd birthday party last night at the park, and after Taylor got over being shy he found his way to the playground where all of the other kids were playing. He proceeded to crawl up the stairs by himself and then down the large slide face first. He squealed the entire way down and then proceeded to go right back to the stairs and do it all over again. We think that he went down the slide completely unassisted over 30 times. He finally stopped when he was thirsty and tired. He took a brief break and then headed right back to the slide for round 2.
