Dave, Taylor, and I just returned from an incredibly relaxing, much needed, two night trip to a resort on Hilton Head Island. We had amazing weather, an abundance of family time, and some of the best seafood around! Taylor cried this morning when we told him that it was time to go. It made me want to cry as well!! We are already looking forward to our next visit there!
We had a very productive weekend! We completely cleared Taylor's room, cleaned it entirely, got rid of the disgusting area rug we had in there, replaced it, and made room for Taylor's new big boy bed. My parents gave us my brother's childhood bed, and that allowed us to free up the crib for our new baby girl. The bed has room for a trundle bed underneath. However, we have the trundle in storage for when Taylor gets a little older. For now, it will be a great place to store some of his toy bins. I will post many more pictures of the room once we have the pictures hung, the crib bedding, and the rest of the room set up just the way I have planned. I think that it is going to work out really well!
I stopped by Toys R Us today to snag a few diapers. I am already stocking up on diapers when there is a good sale. While I was there, I ran across three clothing clearance racks. The Carter's play clothes for girls were just too adorable for me to pass up. I got 7 pairs of pants, 10 onesies, 2 pajama sets, and one adorable summer outfit for about $14. Mega clearance!!! A ton of fun!!
This weekend could not have been more beautiful. I loved waking up early each morning to the cool air outside, low humidity, and brilliant blue skies. You can tell that fall is on the horizon! Ahhh....my absolute favorite time of the year.
Dave has been working with Taylor on how to pedal his bicycle. Taylor was very hesitant to ride because he kept getting stumped when he would push his feet backward, and the bike would suddenly lurch to a stop. It frustrated him. Dave diligently practiced with him, and yesterday, Taylor finally started pedaling his bike like he had been riding for months. He was so proud of himself, and we could not have been more proud of him either. I took a ton of pictures, but he was moving so fast that I pretty much wound up with more pictures of the back of his head than anything else.
The baby girl still does not have a name yet. Quite honestly, Dave and I haven't had much time together to sit down and throw out any ideas. We are taking a relaxing trip to Hilton Head in a few weeks, and we plan on coming up with a list of potential names then. I go back to the doctor in a week to hear the heartbeat. I look forward to those appointments! I have been able to feel her kick each day. Her movements are definitely getting stronger. It is still a little difficult for Dave to feel her, but sometimes she will surprise us both and put on a little kicking show for him too. We have yet to take a "pregnant tummy" picture yet, but will try to do that this weekend. I would like to compare myself to Taylor's pregnancy. I am quite certain that I am larger now than I was with Taylor. Oh well...as long as she is healthy and growing well!
We spent a beautiful Sunday morning with my parents at the Lake Lanier Tea House celebrating my birthday a few days early. They treated us to an amazing brunch and a fabulous time.
We found out on Tuesday afternoon that we are expecting a girl! I have to say that I shed a few tears during that ultrasound. I actually didn't want the technician to stop. I could have looked at that precious baby for hours. Dave and I were in awe when we saw her little mouth open and close, her tongue stick out, her arms and legs move around, and her adorable little hands make their way by her face at all times. Instantly, we were in love!
We weren't able to get the best pictures on Tuesday. Sweet baby didn't want us to see her face. She kept her arms and hands right by her face the entire time. The tech tried to get her to move them, but she just wasn't having any of it. She would move her body, but she wouldn't budge with those hands. However, none of that ultimately mattered. From what the doctor and the tech can tell, she is growing right on track, and she looks perfectly healthy. We feel truly blessed!! Enjoy the pictures below!
