Tooties, peas

In case you didn't understand the title, "Tooties, peas" I can translate for you. This is Taylor talk for "cookies please." Tonight at dinner, we told Taylor that he could have two cookies if he ate two more bites of his banana and most of his dinner. Well, surprisingly enough, he pulled through and did it! I just had to take a video of him asking for two cookies. So cute. I am also including a few "construction" pictures from this afternoon. Taylor has this fascination with hats these days. He will occassionally wear his safari or army hat, but most of the time he prefers his construction hat. Too cute!

Snow!

After seeing buds on trees and daffodils popping up everywhere, I truly did not think that we were going to see snow this winter. Therefore, I was in complete awe when I saw those beautiful giant drops of snow falling on Sunday evening. We immediately bundled up Taylor and Baxter and headed outside. We all were in love with the snow immediately! We were not, however, in love with the fact that our power went out at about 8:30 that evening. We made the best of it though and it actually turned out to be quite fun! We made fires, cooked pancakes on the grill (which were actually fabulous!), and played a lot in the snow. At around lunch time, we realized that 51 degrees INSIDE is just not liveable. So, we headed over to my parents toasty house. We are so fortunate that they live close by! By the time our power was restored and we were back home, Taylor was completely wiped out. It had been a jam packed day for him! Take a look at the photos below. Dave and Taylor were so cute together. I can tell that we have a future snow boarder on our hands. He was fearless as Dave took him down the slight incline in our backyard. I think that we may need to plan a ski trip for next year. Dave needs a ski buddy anyway. I am not too fun to be with since he spends his entire time helping me up and looking for my lost ski poles and missing ski!

Our own little quarterback

On Saturday afternoon, we made a little trip over to the Purcer's for a baby shower for the Ford's. The guys did an amazing job of keeping the kids occupied while the ladies opened presents and ate wonderful homemade goodies that Sarah and Joy provided. It was a beautiful shower, girls! Here are a few pictures from the afternoon. We may be grooming our own little future quarterback. I can just see Dave's dad jumping for joy in Heaven because his grandson is tossing a football! He would be so proud!!

Valentine's Day

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! The weather was absolutely perfect. We spent a lot of time outside playing and clearing out the woods in our backyard. Taylor had a great time playing with his new guitar. I was able to capture a few seconds of his "jam session." I love how he stomps his right foot when he dances. It is just too cute!

I have also included a few pictures of the fun food that we ate over the weekend. It is amazing how something as simple as heart shaped pancakes can start your day off right. Also take a look at the little "heart monster" that Sarah and Emily brought to Taylor for his birthday. It was almost too cute to eat...almost.

A beautiful gift

This afternoon we received in the mail a beautiful gift from Dave's mom. She did a gorgeous pastel drawing of Taylor for us. We are so excited to have it and display it in our home. I thought that it would be fun to share.
