Taylor's sweet friend, Emily, turned 2 this weekend. We were so lucky to join in on the fun celebration with her family! Taylor was particularly pleased with Emily's scooter that her parents gave her. I think that Taylor put more "miles" on the scooter than Emily did. Thanks, Emily, for letting Taylor break in your new toy!!
I have one more savings post. I can't say this will be the last one, but it will be the last one before I post pictures of Taylor. Those pictures are coming tomorrow!
Well, tonight Kelly and I ventured out to Bloom for "triple coupon madness." We apparently missed the true craziness at 7am this morning. The cashiers said that there were people lining up at 7am for shoulder to shoulder shopping. I am not so sure that I would have been up for that. Kelly and I had a great time getting our "shopping fix" by scoring some grocery bargains! As you can see, I am slowly acquiring a stockpile of baking goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My original total was $53.65. After scanning my Bloom "Breeze" card and tripling all twenty of my coupons, my total was $13.71. I think that I can safely say this was a successful shopping trip. 
This is a new type of post for me. It has nothing to do with Taylor, Dave, or myself. It is entirely about saving money. I, and a few of my friends, have been intrigued with all of the items that you can get for free or almost for free at drug stores and grocery stores. Between Christie, Kelly, Sarah, Stephanie, and myself, we have saved A LOT of money!!
Well, today was such a wonderful savings day that I just have to post about it. First off, I got a free tall cup of Starbucks coffee to drink while I waited in the voting lines. Then, I got gas for an amazing $1.99/gallon. Yes, one dollar and ninety-nine cents. Amazing!! After that, I headed over to Petco to get 5 pounds of Science Diet dog food for Baxter for $0.84. I only had to pay taxes. Thanks to www.thethriftymama.com I was able to print off a coupon for $5 off Science Diet. Science Diet is on sale for $5. Therefore the dog food was free plus tax!
The savings don't stop there. On my way home, I stopped by Walgreens. I have heard amazing things about their diapers (again, thanks to thethriftymama for the deals and recommendations). I always thought that I would be a "Huggies girl" no matter what, but I am willing to change if other diapers are cheaper, but of good quality. I was able to get 2 jumbo packages of diapers, 2 bags of Ricolla cough drops, and 2 Almay make-up products for $8.89. The best part is that I am going to get a rebate of $7.70 because I bought mascara (I can always use mascara). What a fun savings day!
Taylor absolutely loves his PaPa's "mo mo" (riding lawn mower). Every time we go to my parent's house, Taylor stands at their kitchen door saying, "mo mo!" Since he said it so much on Halloween night, my dad suggested that we bring him by on Saturday morning to ride around the driveway on the mower. It made Taylor's day!! Don't worry- the blades were not moving!

I have never been one to really enjoy Halloween. I absolutely detest dressing up. So naturally, Halloween would not be my ideal day. Some people may not know this, but Dave and I really got to know each other before we started dating at a Halloween party. We were the ONLY two people at a party (out of about 75 people) that were not dressed up. I knew at that point we were probably going to get married...hehehe.
Well, now that we have Taylor, Halloween takes on an entirely different meaning. I stressed about how to dress him up (he is not one to really like dress up either), so we decided that being a farmer would be a somewhat easy route. He looked so cute in his little plaid shirt and overalls. He refused to wear his bandana, and I could not get near him with his hat. Oh well!! However, after we went to one house, and Taylor realized that you get to ring doorbells and grab candy out of a pail, he didn't care what we put on his head. So...it wound up being a great evening. Taylor tried his first piece of candy (a Nestle Crunch- good choice!), and he loved it! We were able to trick-or-treat with our neighbors, the Places. They have two sweet boys that are close to Taylor's age. Our precious kitty across the street (AnnaKate was dressing up as a cat) got a stomach bug and she wasn't able to join us. We missed you AnnaKate (and of course Billy and Kelly!!).
The pictures aren't that great, but at least we captured the event! Notice the pictures of my parents and their friends- too funny. We had to take Taylor by my parents house. They were armed with M&M's to give to Taylor (and a bag of goldfish if he wasn't up for the candy). What fun!! I hope that you, too, had a spooktacular Halloween.
